Our first ever Oaxacan single origin comes from three brothers belonging to the producer group San Vicente Yogondoy. They each cultivate a variety called pluma hidalgo, a local heirloom descended from typica.

While Oaxaca is better known for its incredible cuisine and mezcal production, its coffee too is worthy of celebration. This lot is comforting and approachable with notes of milk chocolate, orange zest, caramel, baking spice, and dark honey elevated by red apple and white grape.

This coffee is the combined work of the García Luna brothers, Adelfo, Dionicio, and Pompillio. The brothers belong to a producer group of mostly younger farmers in the community of San Vicente Yogondoy within the wider region of Sierra Sur, Oaxaca.

Most of the coffee in San Vicente Yogondoy is a variety called pluma hidalgo (or simply pluma), a local mutation of the typica originally planted in the area. Pluma is well-adapted to the soil and climate, and while it is considered a traditional variety, much of the pluma under cultivation is younger trees planted within the last five years.

Another incredible roast from Partners
I’m used to the El Ramo but decided to try this Mexico roast and so glad I did. Its bright yet mild and has a bit of a mild complexity, not as fruity as El Ramo but very versatile.
